Activated carbon filter #1
Just cobbling together a filter for the phosphate remover and activated carbon, until now they've both been placed lose on top of my live rock filter in a boyu 550. I plan to use the phosphate tub to place the phos ban and active carbon into to encourage slow water flow around them, separating the two compounds with filter wool, place the tub into some foam and then place the ensemble back on top of the live rock filter.

My question is how long should I leave the activated carbon in for

some say leave it in contiguously, but Ive read this can harm the zoophelea and leach out other trace element the the coral needs

others say use for 2 days then remove everyweek.

or use only when required.

too don't use at all ?

I hope there is some concensus here

either way would like to read peoples opinions to help me decide
