little red worms in my pond filters #1

Hello, I am new to Fk,and i am not sure if i am doing this correctly if not plaese put me right.Whilst cleaning my three filters (all connected) i have came across little red worms about half inch long (15mm)and just wondering if they are harmfull to my fish,if they are have you any advice on how to get rid of them please. sound like bloodworm (midge larvae). no harm to the fish, they would eat them if they could get to them! they will be in the pond too, in the gunk at the bottom.

Bloodworms are often said to be a good sign because many of the water conditions that are bad for fish will kill midge larvae. I'm not sure if that's true, but at the very least, you've got free fish food.
