Which Fish is This? #1
Hey all

My Supplier is selling this amazingly bright purple fish and i was just wondering what type of fish it was.
The only guy that was working that day was a 16 kid whom had no idea as he tried to let me walk away with RO water rather than salted -_-

your expertize are required gentlemen & fair ladies please :)

what did its back end look like? If it was yellow then its a royal gramma...

of potentially if the colour is bit strange and it was pinker than it looks then it could be a strawberry basslet..

i'd go with gramma though, specially with the way its hiding in the rock like that.

could be false or true though, cant tell you that without a picture of it side on.

I'm thinking a purple dottyback (Pseudochromis porphyreus)

?

btw, its better to purchase RO and add your own salt. That way you can test it really is pure (TDS Meter <?20) and they're not trying to flog you RO from a poorly maintained filter or just tap water (it has happened!) plus you can use the same brand of salt every time.

agreed its an orchid dottyback (Pseudochromis fridmani), the black line through the eyes is the big clue, beautiful fish, the line gives them such a moody look, lol!
