New and 1st tank setup.. There is something poking for my rock #1
Firstly hello people,

I got a 1st marine tank and just got my live rock, sand and a few hermits and a few snails init but I have got something keep pokeing out of my rock and when I look it pops back in again.

Its a little black thing like a feather duster worm, I have tried to get a photo but its to quick and I cant find anything like it on google.
All I see it the feather dutster type head pop out but it curls right back to touch the rock, A bit like the dome spray head for a pond.

Any help would be great as I dont know what to do about it.

Many thanks.

Leave it be.

As you say , it is a small feather duster. They are filter feeders and will take what they need out of the water column.

They shoot back into the rock when startled.

No mate, they don't. Just let them do their thing catching all the goodies that float by!

Have fun..........

I will have fun,
I find myself just looking in the tank for a long time, just trying to see whats there.

I see little red bits sticking up and thinking, I wonder if this is gonna grow into anything.

I also found a little black and white snail.

ITS GREAT :)

I do it too. I call it rock watching. My mrs thinks I'm mental...

if you look hard enough you see all sorts. I saw a spaghetti worm a few weeks back, weird little things the way they feed.

Hey Marcalans,
That looks awesome. Where did you get your rock from?
