Fish firendly treatment? #1
Hi,

I've got a wooden deck that slightly overhangs my fish pond. Does anyone know of a decking stain/protector that I could safely use?

Sadolin and Cupruinol have both said that if I intend to use any of their products then the pond should be covered during application to stop the product getting into it killing wildlife in the pond.

Are there any friendlier alternatives?

TIA.

Cuprinol is definately out it has arsenick in it for boring insects.
Any Emultion based natural treatments are for use by the pond. Any oil based treatments are no good.
Its more of a painting job rather than treatment.

fyi

I used Ronseal Decking Stain - Country Oak as it 'appens!

I covered as much of the pond as I could with sheeting and went fairly carefully with the brush.

All my fishies are still there!

Not at the moment but I think I should proudly display my efforts in Deck staining - maybe I'll get some of the fish and the pond too
