I have got a 170LTR marine tank and I am getting conflicting advice about how long to leave lights on and what lights should be on at what time etc, I have T5 lights white and blue, please can someone help me with times for lighting, many thanks

Hi tracey, i also ahve a 170 ltr tank and i use the same lighting as you have mentioned. my lights come on at 8 in the morning and the white lights go off at 8 in the night and the blue ones stay on an extra hour till 9.

hi you should have your whites on for eight hours a day at most ,some people put them on for less...
you could encounter problems with algae if your lights are on for too long....
i have my blues come on at 10am the the whites at noon whites off at 20.00 and blues at 2100.....
