Quick question really. I have a 4 foot, approx 160 litre tank housing 4 fancy goldfish and I really need to upgrade my filter to an external. I was looking at the Eheim 2213.
Hopefully I'll be upgrading the tank later this year to a 200 or 240 litre so I want to get a filter that will suit the new tank as well. So, is the 2213 big enough or should I be thinking of getting the next size up?
If anyone has any suggestions of other makes as well, any opinions will be greatly appreciated.
the eheim rated to over your tank capacity you cant go wrong with eheim they are the best in external filters in my opinion powerful with loads of surface area (room for media) and run almost silent ly i have to put my head in the cabinate to see if mine is working properly.
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas / New Year? How are your babies doing?
Anyway, I have 2 of these filters, one for each of my tanks. They are brilliant, cannot fault them.
However, I would advise one with more turnover and more capacity in the canister to house media for your tank, as you have more fish. The 2213 classic has a 3 litre canister capacity, but the more fish you have, the more waste they produce etc etc (you know this already). I have 2 fish in each tank which is fine for now, but I aim for 4 fish in my larger tank eventually, so will be upgrading the filter for that one.
I'll look into the Tetratec ones. Or the larger eheim. I'd rather pay a bit more now and not have to fork out again when I upgrade.
Hi Jay and Rachy :D
I have had a few texts off Frances and off ziggy too. Poor ziggy says her tank is still cycling!
The babies are great, they're not so baby anymore as they're getting so big. The black moor is a boy and I think the rest are girls so hopefully I won't have any future problems with that male to female ratio.
Rachy if you could send me Frances' email address I'd really appreciate it as I'd love to send her some pics.
