i have purchased a R.O unit hoping to start filling my new tank some time next week. I've never used one of these before and with my nano just purchased water from my LFS. I have been reading that when the unit has produced pure water i need to add stuff back into the water as it will damage fish. what can i add back to the water?? or will my salt just do that for me??? cheers guys
My R.O unit is seriously getting on my nerves. can anybody help?. the water is hardly coming out. ive had to take the flow restrictor off because when it was in production mode all the water was pi**ing out of the waste pipe. with the flow restrictor off its made 2 gallons of water in 7 hours! doesnt sound right surely? at first my psi was 40, i no this wasnt enough so i purchased a booster pump. the booster pump sent the psi to 100. this has made minimal difference. please help! cheers
we need to know what gpd your ro unit is 2 gallon in 7 hours does sound slow. the flow restricter is needed for the unit to run correctly, water will flow freely from the waste and drip from the product pipe, you should get 3 times more waste than product im affraid they are horribly inefficient, i have a 100gpd and takes me an hour to get a gallon of ro water at 40 psi.
75 gpd. just trying it now. havnt got the waste pipe connected to anything yet so its just draining into buckets. however its running just as slow with the flow restrictor back on, and filling my 5 gal waste in near half an hour. thinking maybe 100psi from that booster pump is just creating more waste than R.O.
