refugium #1
hi all i have just got a Juwel Vision 180ltr with a TMC V2 400 Skimmer & a hang on the back refugium i'm i right i thinking the outlet pipe of the skimmer should go to the refugium and the outlet of the refugium back in to the tank!!! or i'm i well off the mark ???

not really sure but i was always led to believe you didnt want freshly skimmed water through a fuge because is ripped out all the organics that the fuge feeds on

yeah i would agree that that the refugium should be the first place the water drains to from the tank, and then any filtration then the skimmer then clean water pumped back into the tank.

The other point of view is you don't want your refugium pods and stuff getting skimmed out on their way into the main tank.
For me personally, I initially went with refugium,skim,return and last year swapped to skim,refugium,return. Both the tank and the refugium seem to prefer the latter approach but I'm sure that's not the same for all.
