was wondering what you peeps used for transfering salt water water from one buck/tank to another.

As we all know keeping marine fish involves many water top ups and part changes etc. It can be a messy business and I have always syphoned but they must be an easier way, battery pumps etc etc. Please let me know how you do it and what you use.

I use a powerhead that i bought off ebay for £3 ( its about 300LPH ) with a length of ehiem tubing pushed over the outlet ..

i use a hydor 3000lph pump bought it to run my tank but turns out its a pile of rubbish so use it for water changes now

I use a 2800lph pump I bought for the tank and then upgraded.

Blimey , you lot use some powerful pumps for mixing / changing water ....

It's just what I have. Does make a water change quick though. I use an airpump to mix it and a spare heater and thermometer float in there too so I know its just right.

It wouls appear that Im still in the dark ages syphoning. I think I will look ebay for a cheap powerhead.

Syphoning is good , i do that too .... cleans the sand ...

oh yeah, syphon out, pump back in.

that's how i do it....syphon then pump. so much easier and not much mess on the floor
