Re: My TL450 for sale........ #1
Hi mate, jst had to get rid as i just didn't have the time to look after it anymore.

Have to say one thing though, NEVER, EVER put a Pistol Shrimp into a small tank!! BIG mistake!

Apart from that sold on flea bay for ?140 or so.

Have fun lee & take care of ya syatem.

Only suggestion regarding the red algae is persistance & changes of water weekly. The water changes will get rid evenually. Try not to add any removers as such, they just bugger up ya chemistry & balance.

All the best...............Riggers

Re: boyu 550 vents #6
Hi Justine, filter floss is your answer for the removal of the scum on the surface.
Just place it in between chambers & a setion over the inlet chamber side..leave for a few days & remove! All muck gone!

As for your inlets...some of the 550's have only 1, some have more than that. Keep them all open except the one at the bottom. Keep that one closed as you don't want sand being sucked into that chamber.

Have fun........

Re: Which Nano tank would you recommend? #7
Can't use that one my friend.....it's 80mm! You need 60mm fan for the hood.

Re: Which Nano tank would you recommend? #8
simply simon, that's an ever better idea with the cheato. Another good mod.
You have stated that you have added another powerhead onto the spraybar and using the stock pump (1200lph), this is more that enough to get the water from chamber 4 to chamber 1 with no problems with slow flow through the chambers & over the live rock. So whoever gave you that piece of info, is incorrect.

In future, try & not hi-jack another thread. This should have been in on a thread on it's own.

All the best........

Re: Which Nano tank would you recommend? #9
simply simon, it's highly recommended to get rid of the ceramic noodles as they harbour nasties & replace with the live rock.
That's 'the' most popular thing to change on the TL range.

Have fun......
