WCMM temps #1
Hello!
Haven't been on here for a while.

I have a question that I am wondering if somebody can answer for me please?
I went to an aquarium yesterday and I think I saw WCMM in with tropical fish. I have a tropical and coldwater tank but am wondering if I could put the WCMM in my 26degree tropical tank. I read the caresheet and it says up to 22degrees. Just a bit confused why they were with tropical fish at the aquarium?

Air pump advice #2
Wanting to possibly put some bubbles in my tropical tank, don't want to go too crazy with them though!

On a budget as I have virtually NO MONEY!! I saw a water worldz air pump in the dreaded P@H a couple of weeks ago on sale, does anybody know if it's any good? I have some airline already so don't need that, I do need some airstones though and on my other tank I have adapters that control the strength of the bubbles.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Any Hardened Campers out there? #3
You can get self inflating mattresses that are brilliant! They are only a few centimetres thick but really make a difference. Thermarest do them but they are very expensive if you're not going to use it that much. Vango also do them at a fraction of the price! Sleeping on a mattress will really make a difference, don't sleep on the cold hard floor!

Thanks for your help!

How does a tank uncycle itself? I only ever rinse the filter out in the water that comes out of the tank when I do a water change. Hmmm.

Hopefully it won't take too long!

Re: gasping-please advise on what i have done #6
The fish seem alot better today, they are swimming around alot whereas before they were either at the bottom or at the top gasping for breath.

Done another nitrITE reading and it is now 0.25. Shall I do another water change?

gasping-please advise on what i have done #7
Evening all!

I posted a topic called 'white lumps' in this area a few days ago. I have tested the water and got these terrible results:

ammonia-zero (this is the reading that is fine!)
nitrATE-5.0 (this also is fine, it's always been this low)
nitrITE-1.0 NNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

The water smelt a bit pi*sy, so I have taken out 40% of the water, replaced 30% and got the filter sticking out of the water to create a good flow of water as the fish seemed to be gasping at the top for air.

Have I done the right thing?

Re: Whitespot?? #9
I hadn't thought of just dosing the amount of water that I put back in, thanks for that!!

I have done the second dose. Some of the fish seem to be gettin better, the glowlights but the bleeding hearts spots have got bigger!! A couple of them are swimming funny too, they have lost their balance. I have read his on other posts about balance.

I hope that they get better.

Re: Whitespot?? #10
It says to put the first dose in then in four days put the second dose in. Hopefully it'll work. They all seem to be swimming around fine. Any idea when I will notice the spots disappear?
Another question sorry, I am due to do a water change tomorrow and am not sure if it is safe to do so? Will this remove the majority of medication causing it not to work?
