Re: Sick Fish? #1
i feel you're pain, i lost a koi earlier this year which was dropsy i was heartbroken, i have 8 other fish in with her and they were fine but i did seperate her for a week before she passed, she seemed like she was getting better then the following day she had died :(

i hope you can maybe save yours but dont worry it wont pass onto you're other one

thanks and good luck.

Re: My Pond with Piccies #2
hi sean its pennywort i bought 1000grammes on ebay, ?10.

i use mesh net because of local cats and herons, i dont want to lose stock.

children eating koi lol hmmmm thats odd!.

i am a angler and wanted my pond as natural as i could get it, i didnt want crystal clear water and i added plants that you tend to find when fishing, also the pennywort is simular to lily pads but smaller but do grow.

thanks.

UV Clarifier!?! #4
Is it worth getting one of these?

i still get a murky green/brown water and its annoying me now, my current UV is 9watt in my filter (i know thats not enough) as my pond is est 1100 - 1300 gallon

should i get a filter that can have a better UV bulb and power or keep my current and get a UV Clarifier?

also how does a clarifier work exactly? and do you recommend a Filter or Clarifier

i was told i couldnt swap my 9watt bulb for a more powerful watt bulb as it may blow the filter.

Change UV bulb? #5
Just wondered if i could put a more powerful UV bulb in my fishmate UV 5000 filter?

it currently has a 9 watt installed in it but i may need a more powerful UV to clear my pond of algae as its 1200 - 1300 gallons.

also will any UV light do, do they fit all filters?

finally ... would it be worth buying a UV clarifier and what type would be best suited for me?

Re: Green go away!!! #7
ok i added a UV filter 9watt and some barley liquid also added a little bit of green away to the pond

the water is currently green and has bits in it floating around i have cleaned the filter out 4 times and each time its been full of bits and green water, will the pond dilute back to clear or not?

my pond is approx 1200 - 1300 gallons
