Re: 9 fish be to much #1
Hello,

I would say yes. Far too much if I may be so bold. The Yellow Tang alone will grow to a hefty size and I would expect the Wrasse to not be too happy...

Pea Soup Green Water #3
Not been one for a while.

Decided to expand for my Tropicals and Marine and have dug a pond :)

Added Water a while back, which turned into Pea Soup, and setup up my pump and filter (with UVC) last weekend.

Water is still very Pea Soup.

Any idea`s on how long it will take to clear?

Pump and Filter bought as a pack with a `clear water` promise...

Re: Bad news :-( #8
Hi EagleC,

I am sorry for you. Seems you are having a bad time of it all.

I have no advice but only offer solstice. You may recall that my setup got a case of Ich a while back which I think was brough in by a Regal Tang. The Tang (and a goby) suvived but I lost 2 clowns and a royal gamma. I had had no sign of Ich for about 7 weeks now and added 2 new clowns this weekend, so fingers crossed all is well. I AM adding a course of Odinex just in case though.

Fingers crossed for you. Its a learning curve for us both.

Soft Coral a Funny Story - but need advice please #9
Hi all,

I have had this particular soft coral for about 4 weeks. Don`t know what it is called but it looks like the shape of a bay leaf tree (definate trunch with a round mass at the end) and is doing fine.

At the weekend I decided to move it as my goby has made its current home under the rock next to where the coral lives and has half covered the corals trunk with sand. The coral has attached itself to a largeish shell so this was an easy process.

This morning I wake up to find that the coral has moved! One of my hermits has decided he needs a new home and moved into the shell that the coral is fixed too. He is happily going about his business dragging the coral around who, in itself does not look too bothered as its open and feeding.

However, this is not the best situation for coral or crab. I have no way of getting the crab out apart from adding a few shells to see if he wants to `move` again...

But, Can I remove the coral to be fixed to a new item? It looks to have made a firm grip to the shell. Can you cut the trunk? Any ideas?

Thanks all..
Red

Re: parasites #10
Hello,

The most common parasite seems to be Ich (Marine Whitespot). My fishes suffered this about 7 weeks back and I lost 2 clowns and a Royal Gamma. As felix says a pic may help, tough though. Maybe try an all round med that you can get from your LFS but make sure it is INVERT SAFE or you will harm any Inverts, coral and `rock creatures`. (Nothing with Copper in it).

Those `rock creatures` are way cool. For some fun, at night turn of all lights in the room and wait a while with a touch at the ready. You will be amazed at what you see especially 1st thing in the morn.

Good luck!
