Re: competition entry by natterjack #2
I like it, simple but effective. I agree with Cathie, it should work for shellies, they live in the wild in multi-layer shell piles. Wish I had a taller to tank to try it out!

Re: New to fishkeeping!! #3
Welcome, the short answer is nope, its no good at all send it back. Clearsil are the cheapest tanks about, have a look in your local fish shop to see what offers they have. Also look on freecycle, gumtree or ebay to pick up a bargain.
The bigger the better really as you have more room to move if things go wrong. Good to see you're doing the research, once you get your tank do a fishless cycle and get a good liquid test kit, then we can recommend some fish that are suitable for your water

Re: Dwarf Otocinclus #4
I'll agree with cathie about going down the nerite snail route, i've got a few bumblebee ones in my tank happily going round munching the algae.

Re: My year of keeping fish and still not getting it right! #6
You probably know this already but have you tried looking on freecycle for a fishtank?

Re: Dwarf Otocinclus #8
Personally I wouldn't add any more fish just yet, the tank is still relatively new and needs to mature a bit more.

Re: Competition Entry 3 #9
I like it, maybe have the waterfall at both ends if the seals could hold it?? but then I like symmetry in my tanks

Re: Should I be doing anything else...help! #10
I wouldn't medicate but do daily water changes of 20% and if you can get some amquel that will help. You've got a good test kit there but you do need to shake the tubes vigorously for the full time to get the correct reading.
