Totally Tropicals - Bishops Stortford (formerly Aquatic Fanatics) My V.small but very near and run by some very knowledgeable ppl, but unfortunatly the new owner has them stocking more of the dreaded orbs. Get my RO from here at 50p per 5 litres.
Amwell Aquatics - Epping My fave LFS, has a huge selection of trops & good selection marines & coldwater inc Koi. Fish always look healthy and staff are v.helpful (even the saturday youngsters) Good labeling with regard to suitability & final size!
Thanks guys, now have fry tank settling next to main tank with maturation being helped along with bit of old filter from main tank. (gf is gonna kill me when she gets home) Count 14 fry so far and have rescued a few more of todays eggs.
My albino cory pair have been spawning a while now but last time (saturday) I managed to rescue 30 or so eggs again (have done before with smaller no's but no success). But this time I have fry! They are currently floating in tuppaware after hatching last night/this morning, but what do I do with them now? How long before they should be transferred to a fry tank & what to feed them, liquifry?
As I type they have just laid 10 or so more eggs on the glass right next to me!
No top dwellers really, 6 tetras, 6 corys 3 small clown loaches and only 2 gouramis now as i've lost 2 recently any additions/replacements would need to bear this in mind. its a 126l tank but being a tall tank (fluval duo deep 800) the lighting is insufficient for small plants
After wondering about how to upgrade the lighting in my tank for the plants I saw these T5HO Linear lighting in my LFS yesterday. The only thing I am slightly concerned about is having the tank without a lid, especially with 6 corys who dart for the surface occasionally. Anyone have any opinions/experiances on open topped?
Bit of a thread hyjack but I have the same problem and have narrowed my choice down to either the Fluval 205 or the Eheim Ecco 2234 as both are rated to about 200l (tank is 126l and internal 3+ struggles). Opinions on both?
Should add that i'm looking for it to also house some form of nitrate removal (polyfilter or granular) due to v.high nitrate tap water)
One of my better LFS, ironically i'm off there today to pick up some clown loaches hopefully. Good selection of fish and equipment and a marine section that makes me want to convert my tank every time lol.
