Re: strange green creature!! #1
We've fished it out now and pretty sure it's the whole thing, will just have to keep an eye out for any more.
Thanks.

Re: strange green creature!! #2
Thanks guys, from the picture link it looks identical to the mayfly nymph.
Only thing that now concerns is checked in tank now and it's dead!! Should I be concerned that it may have laid eggs or is that likely to be the end of it, forgive my ignorance but figure better off asking what I don't know rather than make mistakes!!

strange green creature!! #3
While feeding fish this morning we've found a small approx 1/2 inch long green stick insect type creature, it has large white "goggly" eyes and a very thin narrow body and 6+ legs. At the end of its tail it has three spike like bits sticking out, tried to take a picture but couldn't get focus correct. Just dubious in case it may be harmful to the other fish, anybody any ideas!!??!!

Re: Babies, Babies everywhere!! #5
Wow, This is fascinating, I would never have even thought of cucumber or tomatoes for them, though I have been told to put cucumber in to try and attract the snails so I can try and get some of those out? Is this correct?
I will def try that over the weekend and let you know how I get on.
Just had a count up what I can see, and I can see 16 bristlenoses and 8 platys at the moment, wouldn't like to commit to that though, can't see behind the plants at the moment!!
Also unsure what is the maximum amount of fish I should be looking at having, the tank is 190 litres, the babies aside, I don't want to risk having too many fish?

Re: Babies, Babies everywhere!! #6
Yes they are Bristle Nose, we were advised on them from local lfs for the algae problems, now having to use algae wafers as there isn't enough algae to keep them all happy!!

Thanks, I will try there first and then take it from there, I have a feeling I'll be using this site a lot, it is full of so much useful information and help and I think I may be needing it for the future!!

Babies, Babies everywhere!! #8
Hi, I'm pretty much a newbie so still a huge learning curve at the minute. We've had our tank for approx 8 weeks now and followed all the advise given, though it seems the tank is running a little too well as we now have 12+ baby plecos and 10+ baby platties all surviving very well. While our tank is a good size i'm pretty sure it will not accommodate all of the fish, any advise would be gratefully recieved. Thanks
