Re: RO uint #1
So that means I just say goodbye to 80% of the water down the drain? Sounds expensive as I'm on a meter.

Re: All Gone :-( #6
My tang died on Sunday morning and then the clownfish and two cleaner shrimp died sometime during the next day. The whitespot treatment was about half-way through at the time.

Re: All Gone :-( #7
The dosage of the white spot treatment was just as it said on the bottle. Everything else seemed OK. The water smell just stopped, the temperature was fine and we just relied on the filter.

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that white spot was the culprit. Just a really bad dose somehow. Fred, my little clown, has been very resilient through every other bout of white spot. Not a sign on him and he's been as happy as ever. This time he was visibly infested with white spot so I'm assuming that everything else in the tank was just as bad.

Re: All Gone :-( #8
Thanks for your replies. I've not got the test book anymore - threw it away when I cleared up the leftovers

I stayed with salted RO water, live rock and proper filter wool. Was just interested at the time in what I could get hold of in an emergency if I needed to.

We did have whitespot on going at the time and were treating it with parazoryne - as we also had inverts. We'd had a couple of white spot episodes before and the parazoryne cleared it up OK.

We changed 25 litres a month - the tank capacity was 120 litres when empty.

The temperature was OK towards the end. Bit of a dodgy heater for a while but another check made us boost the heating and this brought new life to the inhabitants - seemingly a lot happier.

All Gone :-( #9
Ok so i have some really bad news, I am not sure what has happened but something did.
All my test have always been fine and everything seem to be ok, the only problem that i was having was brown algae which i thought was nothing to worry about.
Anyway i got home from work the other day and everything in the tank had died even little fred which was the first fish that i got ( Not Very Happy)

The thing is that now this has happened i am not sure what to do, i dont know whether to start again or to just get some goldfish.

please help as i really dont know what to do and you like the opinions of your good selfs and what would you all do if you ever were is the awful situation.

Simon
