Re: Smelly Tank #1
okay, will try and do that now... but can someone explain to me why after prodding around in the sand and switching my airstone plant on, the tank just smells normal again? It stank really bad about an hour ago!

Re: Smelly Tank #3
No algae, i have white sand so i'd notice any yucky parts and i cleaned the tank and did around a 20% water change about a week ago. However... i did add esha 2000 when i noticed my molly looking ill a few days back, so i will definitely read that post! Thanks guys...

Smelly Tank #4
Ok.... 125ltr Juwel Rio home to 4 tiger barbs, 1 sailfin molly, 1 young bristlenose plec, 4 guppy's, 6 tetras, 2 albino cory's & 4 peppered cory's.
amm - 0
PH - 7
No2 - 0
No3 - 0.1mg/l

Tank absolutely stinks!! Don't know what i've done to it, but i opened the lid for the first time in about 5 days today coz my molly has her fins clamped, and got hit in the face by the stench of egg! Only thing i've done differently recently is added aquarium salt and fed them tetrafresh delica brine shrimp. Any ideas what's up coz i can't cope with a bedroom that stinks of sulphur!!!

This may well be the most disgusting thing that i have ever seen. What can we do about it? Man must be sick in the head, the cruel (expletive)

Peppered Cory / Corydoras Paleatus #6
Hi, i was just wondering if there's any way to tell whether my cories are male or female... i have four peppered cories and two white ones with red eyes (forgot the name) Some are bigger than others, but i've also had some longer than others. They always swim about in their tank, but lately they've been swimming practically on top of each other!

Re: Confused by my fishes illness! :-S #7
Aquarium salt added, bro feeds em twice a week, and we clean the water every fortnight, or soona depending on how dirty it is, we use aquasafe, clean the filter in the 'dirty' water, and only clean bout 20%. Havent noticed his bowel movements yet, but we have fed him shelled peas.

Re: JUST A LITTLE JOKE FOR YOU #9
Ok, this is well funny, but it relates to a village not far from where i live, but i'm sure everybody can relate to a village full of teenage pregnancies, chavs, people on the dole and where everybody and everything there is just rough and dirty!! Just change Merthyr Tydfil and add your own village name and you'll find it funny!

EARTHQUAKE APPEAL !

A major earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, hit in the early hours of this morning and its epicentre was Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. The earthquake decimated the area, causing approximately £35.00 worth of damage.

Several priceless collections of mementoes from the Balearics and Spanish Costas were damaged.
Three areas of historic and scientifically significant burnt out cars were disturbed. Many people were woken well before their giro arrived. Thousands are confused and bewildered, trying to come to terms with the fact that
something interesting has actually happened in Merthyr.

Victims can be seen wandering aimlessly muttering: "How be?" "Tidy mind" and "Can't fault it butt'.

One resident, 15 year old Sara-Angharad Davies, mother of five, said, "It was such a shock, little Chardonnay-Mercedes came running into my bedroom crying. My youngest two, Tyler-Morgan and Kylie-Storm slept through it. l was still shaking when I was watching Trisha this morning, I was."

Apparently though, looting, muggings and car crime did carry on as normal.

The British Red Cross have so far managed to ship 4000 crates of Sunny Delight and 20 tonnes of Cheeze Strings to the area to help the stricken masses. Rescue workers are still searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal belongings including benefit books, jewellery from Elizabeth Duke at Argos and bone china from Pound Stretcher.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

This appeal is to raise clothing and food parcels for those
unfortunate enough to be caught up in the disaster. Clothing is most sought after. Items required include:- Fila baseball caps, Kappa tracksuit tops (his and hers), shell suits (female), white sports socks, Nike Air basketball boots and any other items usually sold in TK Maxx. Food parcels may be harder to put together but
necessary all the same, required foodstuffs include:- Microwave meals, tins of baked beans, ice cream and cans of colt 45 or special brew.

£1 buys curry n chips and blue pop for a family of four. £10 can take a family to Port Talbot for the day, where children can play on a radioactive beach in front of the National collection of steel works.
£0.68 pays for a return bus ticket to the countryside where
they can pick magic mushrooms to feed a family.
22p buys a biro for filling in a compensation claim.

Please do not send tents for shelter, as the sight of "posh" housing is unfair on the population
of neighbouring areas of Tredegar, Aberdare and Ebbw Vale!

Best Regards
David Channing

Confused by my fishes illness! :-S #10
I've had Reg now, who's supposed to be an oranda but he doesn't have the bubbly head, for just over a year and we've been having loads of illness in my bro's tank altho i've been testing it on a weekly basis and all is well, so much so, we've lost 4 single tail goldfish Neway, there are 2 left, Reg and Flop, Flop seems fine but Reg has ballooned like a ball and his scales are poking out. I've seen this before with dropsy and swimbladder, thing is tho, he's fine!! He's not having any trouble swimming, he's eating flops share of the food aswell as his own, and he isnt lying on the ground, or any of the usual symptoms! Only thing i've noticed is Flop (sorry to be so graphic!) is spending a lot of time with his face by Reg's but!! Any ideas anyone, coz i can't treat a fish when i dunno wots wrong with him! I've added sabbactisun to be on the safe side!!! 96ltr cold water, 2 inhabitants - fantail goldfish and supposed Oranda, PH 7, Amm - 0.1, Nitrite - 0.1 Nitrate - 2
