Re: fish-less cycle going belly up #1
Is your 80l tank now fully stocked with fish?

And how mature is it? Eg how long since the cycle completed?

Fishlady probably knows where I am going with this.

Re: Would this put you off buying fish...... #2
One or two dead fish is only to be expected as the volume of fish in the shop far exceeds anything we are likely to have in our own tanks.

P@H does appear to be rather bad in this department but my local one always acts fast if a dead fish is pointed out (usually by my daughter).

Most dedicated fish/reptile centres are much better, after all they specialise in scaled life and most have an ongoing maintenance schedule. Usually on the tank I am interested in buying from.

Re: Pregnant fish laying eggs #5
Ahhhh. That explains it. I had those very same mysterious things on a circulation pump that I changed out and couldn't figure out what they were.

Re: Bloated male platy #7
I can't see any diseases on him. I would say he is a bit greedy.

Livebearers are really hard to sex (apart from swortails) so not your fault if its a lady.

May I introduce Rex #9
Here is my latest addition. A male dwarf gourami, my daughter has named him Rex. No idea why iys a video game thing I think.

Anyhow he is a solid colour rather then striped. Hard to get.

He has two lady friends to keep him busy.

RIP mango.

You did everything you could for her so try not to blame yourself. I am proud of you.
