Re: why are my fish dying? #1
The pond is 1.2 meters square and a foot and half deep. I have 4 small orfe, 5 small rudd, 4 small goldfish and 3 small carp. Ive just recently added the rocks and plants. When I first bought the house the guy who kept the pond had 5 big orfe, 3-4 goldfish and 4 big carp and they all looked healthy.

Re: why are my fish dying? #7
I came home from work and found these two dead. I bought a Nitrate test and the water stayed clear instead of going pink/purple. I also bought some fungus treatment.
I'd like to know if the waters ok and I put new fish in, could the new fish get the disease from the remaining fish or will they be ok as the waters ok? Im not looking to add any just yet though.

I posted 3 images, no idea why they arent showing>>

why are my fish dying? #8
I know you probably get loads of posts like this, but I can't put my finger on whats wrong.
Im spending a fortune on fish but they keep dieing with forms of white mould/wool type round them. I know they arent over fed and I know its not overstocked. Its only the goldfish and carp that are dieing, my golden orfe and rudd seem fine. I bought a ammonia test kit and it stated the water as being fine. Are there any other tests I can do to find out such as ph? Im getting lots of blanket weed and from the postee a couple of post below says as soon as I take it out it comes back even more. Ive read up on blanket weed and found out it improves water quality and doesnt harm fish, but the ammount I get in 24 hours is unbelievable.
I have a pump running 10 hrs a day with a filter and UV. The last time I changed the bulb was just under a year ago.
Until a week ago I hardly had any plants in, but now Ive added eight deep water plants and looking to add more. Could this be the cause of unhealthy fish?.
I lost one lot of fish so I did a 85% water change but the new lot are still diening of the same symptoms....

Re: UV #10
They arent leaches, do leeches tend to cling onto the fish in whole? Im pretty certain they are anchor worm only brown and white. Only the head is buried into the fish but the rest of the worm isnt attached to the fish's body.
Ive heard salt is a good remedy so im putting a pinch of salt a day in.
