Re: Feeding Garlic #1
Seriously? Garlic is a "thing" for tropical fish?

Re: RO Unit - vertical or horizontal mounting #2
Just out of interest what do people do with the "waste" water from the ro process? I presume its safe to use on the garden and on fruit and veg? if there a lot of waste im not keen to see it just go down the drain unless its no use elsewhere.
thanks

RO Unit - vertical or horizontal mounting #4
Hi there

I'm planning on installing a compact 3 stage RO unit due to the water parameters my tropical fish will need. I have seen various comments about installing vertically and horizontally but I wondered which way fishkeepers with these units recommend. Have uploaded a pic to show the unit I have.

Re: Tetra Tank #6
been watching youtube for how to install my ro system and a DI (de-ioniser?) cartridge was mentioned. Is this necessary for a tropical fish tank or not.

Thanks

Re: Tetra Tank #8
Does anyone gave any recommendations for the best water testing kit for a tropical tank?

The API Freshwater Master Test Kit sounds like a good one - but us it adequate? The last comment in the review I read said: “this kit is usually enough to monitor and maintain a simple tank” which actually makes me wonder if I need something more comprehensive!

Re: Tetra Tank #10
I’m guessing you’ll be able to tell me this too Fishlady - sorry to bug you but it’s easier than consulting my books!
I know I’ll slso need to add “stuff” ie minerals etc to the ro water but for tetras what should I be looking for and are they readily available online?

The tetras I’m looking at need soft water with a ph of 6-7.

Once they’ve settled in I’m thinking of adding a small pleco/suckermouth if I have room and the one I’m looking at also needs soft water and a ph of 6-7.

Thanks for your help.
