Re: Is my tank cycled? #1
You can give your filter a wee boost using a little part of your filter sponge from your main tank! It sounds like you are almost there though!

Re: Problems within minutes of water change #2
This doesn’t sound good at all!
How large a water change did you do?!
It seems like a contaminant. I’m thinking a detergent or aerosol. It may even have been a treatment added at the waterworks.
Please rinse all your equipment with copious amounts of water and do a second water change.
This sounds very stressful hopefully all works out!

Re: Got even a bigger tank! #3
Ohhhh nice!
So much choice, what is your water like?
I'm thinking a SE Asian set up! Barbs, clown loaches!

Aquarium wood #4
I'm looking to buy some aquarium wood for my fishtank (online as the choice is very limited here). Where would you guys recommend, also what size would I need it's for a 100cm by 30cm tank that's 40cm high. Would you recommend a single longer piece or two or three shorter pieces? Also I have a smaller 35cm by 40cm that's 35cm high. I think one piece is enough for it?
Would you recommend bogwood or mopani? I have no idea. I don't want to spend a fortune if it won't look right.
Any help would be appreciated.
I had thought about looking for driftwood or fallen beech wood I could but is it worth the risk?

Re: Freshwate Tropical First Timer #5
I'd go for barbs. It's a perfect size for them.
You could have a nice tank of Tiger barbs:caresheet
Another good choice would be rainbow fish.
If you want something very simple have a look at this post:Temperate Roma tank

Re: help? #8
They'd crunched it up :(
I give them a telling off.
I'm just going to do a PWC? Think that'll be OK?

Re: First tank bought with fish, some concerns! #10
Mollies are a tropical species:Molly Caresheet
If you plan on moving the goldfish on do it soon. They need to acclimatise to being outside before any cold snaps come along.
