Hello Old Friends !!

It's been a while (I have been a bit of a lurker).
Just wondered if anyone could advise re a problem I am having with my Eheim external filter (I always thought you were all an extremely good looking and highly intelligent bunch - there was of course the odd exception ).

My Eheim was purchased September 2011 and up until recently has delighted me on a daily basis with it's outstanding performance !
My husband cleans the pipes out about every 5/6 months, and at the end of October whilst putting the lid back on (after changing f/wool) the daft apeth didn't line things up properly before priming, he pulled the handle down which broke one of the clips and damaged the canister. I ordered a new canister/clips and the world of filtration was rosy for a while.. I noticed the flow was slowing and gradually slowed to a trickle, we cleaned the pipes/ and everything from the filter into the tank was cleaned. After a 3 weeks or so flow was slowing again so read Eheim booklet and realised that we had never cleaned the pump chamber and ball valve, we did (27/12) and everything was glorious until this week.. it's slowed right down again.

Any suggestions ?

I love my filter and I am fervently hoping that it is not 'on it's way'.

He was a lovely boy, and it's so sad when they have to go. I am glad you are considering another dog, he/she will never replace Jasper, but you love your doggies so much and will give a fab home to another woofy friend when you are ready.

Quite a few years ago when my chum Zeb died we decided not to get another dog, too tying etc.. lasted 2 weeks Its pushing 20 years since Zeb died, we still talk about him regularly and his little habits that made us laugh ( he was a border collie cross, and a right little b !). We lost Rufus nearly 5 years ago at 15 yrs, he left such a massive void but getting Ella helped so much - she is so different to him. They all have their own personalities and are so different, but one things for sure they never leave you.

Jasper had a wonderful life - you both did him proud.
