I got the biggest filter i could a fluval u4 I deiced that an out side filter was a bad idea with my son as he will break it if he gets the chance i know it will mean i can only get two fish but I'm happy with that
thank you btw when i went to my fish shop they tried to tell me i could have as many as 8 big bodied fish in the tank sell more fish i suppose

if i got single tailed gold fish could i have more than two ?
i made the mistake the first time round of over stocking a tiny tank i don't want to go and do that again but i don't want to be playing hunt the gold fish (im thinking some thing like a gold fish won from a fair but i will not be doing that ill get one from a reputed fish stockist)

Hi everyone its been a wile
I need some advise on filters my trigon 190 needed a clean out after standing mostly empty for the last year.
as i cleaned it out with white vinegar the filter i got wit the tank a jewel (sp?) came off the side use full as i was able to clean behind it but now i am unsure whether to sick it back on or go for a new filter and if i do go for a new filter should i get an internal one or external ? Im planing on going cold water ( thinking gold fish and black mores may be a red cap oriander but im getting a head of my self)
any suggestions ? i have all the parts for my original filter it would be a case of getting new media and silicon to stick it back on ( i think the pump still works

putting a backing up would help as would plants live food im told will help keep the aggrsion under controle ( not an expert on chichlids so dont hold me to that )im talking blood worm and may be some dafnia not live fish!
as for jugment we have all amde mistakes you have learnt from them asked questions and are doing some thing a bout them in my book that makes a great start as a fish keeper

never found fish in a house but i have found them in a phone box that annoyed me beyond

if you have the name of the people who had the house before you can report them to the rspca ( abandon ment is a crime fish are animals too !)

i have no idea if it was a a no return one or not! its no longer in the tank any way i rediscoved an extention to my bilt in filter so now i can have air in teh tank and no exta tubes or wires my son can suck on but if i do get another or ned to use the old one i will check it has a one of them

Lil man today asked if he was allowed to feed the fish!
we let him give alittle pinch but we are now locking the food away you know exactly what would happen if he got hold of the food !

atho i do sell my GALS as feeder food i dont sell tehm to people i know will ether fee them to anotehr animal or god forbid humans

yes we have we changed the bubls check the fuse clened the contacts and the water proof bit and it still wont work
