Re: Large pond filer advice please this really does need sorting.
Hi Ratboiler, welcome to the site.
I believe you might of fell into a similar trap by the manufactures that a lot of people do unfortunately.
The two tanks you had would of been (as you've found out) better than any hozelock system that I know they make (although its been a while since I was in the trade) do you know what system the Hozelock filter is? Box? Pressurised?
Im guessing you no longer have the old filters?
Also when was the last time you cleaned the bottom of the pond? Either manaually or by pond vac? Do you know how old the pond is?
True, but hopefully by providing information on other products, which will suit his needs better then if he does return or may be someone else looks at the thread, we can also help them without them needing to start a new thread.
Is she doing it anymore now that the weather is colder? It could be a slight swim bladder problem, which can be fairly common in older fish. You will need to keep an eye on her during the winter in case the pond freezes over. My suggestion would be to look at covering the pond to keep the chill of it.
2010, is right, for that price the vacuum is going to have just one chamber so you will have to wait longer for it to discharge then for it to fill. Im a bit of a loop on new products but when I was working Hozelock brought a very good one for aound ?100. Might be worth a look.
But you don't need to looking for one now. With it going to (apparently) get a lot colder very soon, it will be too cold to do anything, so unless its really bad Id wait till spring.
