Re: My snail is sick :( #93
I was tempted to mention this combo again but i didn?t want to sound like a Mela/Primafix junkie, it seems to be all i recommend at the moment...it is good stuff though

Hi Ali, did you manage to get hold of some Prime or Amquel? both of these will lock in the toxic effects of the ammonia until your filter catches up. The Ammonia alert is a must for a quick check on the tank too.

Re: Is my Ryukin still ill? #95
Hi GB..this is more of a bump for the thread?.im still scratching my head on this one.

Ive just been going through your past posts to try and figure out which tank she?s in....is she in the main tank now?

If so, can she go back into the 90ltr on her own with reduced water level to reduce the pressure on her!?

If she's not constipated and the meds used previously haven?t worked I would give her a course of the Mela/Primafix. I know you said you didn?t want to subject her to more meds but I can testify that these are very very gentle, the tank needs dosing every 24 hours as it breaks down due to its organic compounds.

FX something works

Re: Norman's bouyancy issues #98
Thank you every one for your very kind words, they mean a lot to me especially from people who truly care. I can?t say i haven?t tried to second guess myself more than once but in the end i still know deep down she had had enough.

Re: A very floaty black moor #99
Hi welcome to FK.

How is you moor now?
How big is the isolation tank? Is it filtered?

Your Nitrate is at the very limit at a possible 50ppm.
How often and how much water do you change?

Can you test your tap water Nitrate to see what you?re dealing with before fresh water goes into the tank?

Your tank is also overstocked, goldfish are incredibly mucky critters so need plenty of water volume to A, dilute waste and B, to get enough exercise.

Moors have nice round tummies anyway but would you say it was bloated? you mentioned rough scales.

Floaty problems dont always have to be swim bladder, it can often be down to diet, but lets see how s/he is first.

Re: Missing scales #100
Can you pop a pic on Jon? it may help to see the dark raised areas.
