Re: think my Oto's have been breeding! #51
Thanks fishlady

Looked at it again today. I think its definitely an oto as it is transparent, it also seems to have grow about 2 mm since yesterday so its finding food from somewhere!

Re: think my Oto's have been breeding! #52
Hi Fish lady

thanks! It's very small prob about 4mm its body is black but tail is transparent I can't get any pics as I struggle to find it and when I do its normally on the water line in a corner. It does look a little like an oto but then again it is so small I cud be mistaken

I can't tell if its sucking the glass as I can only see it when it moves but it does appear to be living in a corner so its possible I suppose.

Are there any obvious symptoms to tell if a barb or oto is pregnant?
Best Regards

think my Oto's have been breeding! #53
Hi All,

I've just noticed a very very small fish with a black body so I can only assume that its an oto especially as one of the adults did look very bloated I just assumed it was eating very well!

I just want to know I'd the baby or babies will survive or will the cherry barbs eat them? So far I've only seem 1 but there maybe more I don't know.
Best Regards

Re: Shrimp deaths #54
Hi Fish Lady,

To be honest my concern was the breeding so that would be ideal! What would be a normal amount to have of them?

I'm not planning of adding more fish as the barbs having fin rot worried me a bit and loosing the DG as it all seemed to happen after I added more stock.
Best Regards

Re: Treatments never work :( #57
Sorry to hear about your losses - I've just been through something similar but only lost 2 fortunately.

I'm no expert, only just started myself but in order to help the experts will need tank size, fish numbers and types, waTer PH, Gh & Kh.

I treated with EshA 2000 and it worked for me so keep at it.

Google fin rot as the treatment won't help if the cause is still present, I know this may not help but at least it'll give u an idea of what mYbe happening

Re: Fin Rot Problem HELP! #58
Hi All,

I'm very pleased to announce that the remaining 7 cherry barbs and 4 otos are doing really well.

All the barbs are back to there normal selves and eating normally. There fins and tails are already starting to grow back!

The otos were never really affected but did go a bit hyper but have returned to how they were too.

Is a little worrying though how quickly things can change and I'm still not 100% sure Wat actually happend.
