6 times my discus have laid eggs in a breeding tank which is bare bottom with heater, cone, and sponge filter. Run by a external air pump. Tank size 24" x12" x 16" 76 lt any idea why this is happening.They last 3 days the most.
My PH is 6.6 to 6.8 at it highest which is about right for my Discus and i have had 4 batches of eggs but unfortunately they eat them but now i have a small other tank which i am going to put the pair in.
Question for you Tropical fish Keepers I bought Muscle Mix and Beef heart Mix from breeders on here which have told me that i should only feed my Discus Tank with either one 3 times a day and i should only feed them with it and nothing else but what they don't say is that you should do a Water Change every other day because the Muscle Mix Specially has it got very Protein which causes your NITRATE to go very HIGH. So for the normal one tank persons which don't breed Discus what would you say the answer to my Question is. I change mine 40% Twice a Week
Hi all i have a pair of Blue Turquoise Discus they have laid eggs 4 times now in my community tank and the have eat them every time. I now have a Breading tank separate from my community i only have a orange cone in there with a sponge filter and heater so how long do i leave them in there for if they lay eggs again and eat them do i leave them in there or do i put them back in my community tank what is the best move to do ?
Sorry for posting it 2 many times i must have made a mistake i thought i would put it in more than 1 forum and i would get more than one answer My Tank size is 24 inches long x 18 inches high 12 inches wide it holds 18.687 litres water i was told this is OK because the parents stay much closer together is this OK ?.
Hi can anyone help us. My son has a 4 ft x 2 ft x 2 ft Tank he got 10 number of Discus with other community fish that are suitable with the Discus. He does W/C twice a week 30 to 40 % His Test Readings are PH 7.6 Ammonia 0 ppm Nitrite 0 ppm Nitrate 10 to 20 ppm. He feeds 3 times a day. Also Treats Wormer + once a month. The last couple of days the Discus have been Turning Black and their are all facing the top of the water at the top of the Tank, I have added Pictures here for you to see (Just Click the Links to View them) All other Fish in the Tank are Fine. We would be most Great full for all you Help.
