Re: Site Update #43
Server software updated.

There's lots of tiny things that need fixing and few bigger things that don't work which I'll fix over the coming week.

The two things that the site really need were being mobile friendly and https access have been achieved with this update.

You can now access the site at https://www.fishkeeping.co.uk/

Site Update #45
I'm going to update the site on Sunday to move to a new version of the software the site runs under.

The site will disappear and reappear a few times as I move and update things.

It will have a new look and will work much better on mobiles.

I'll use this thread to keep everyone informed of progress.

Re: Is my filter set up correctly? #46
Also ask them for a manual. They could at least pay someone to translate the Chinese one so they could send a printed copy with the tank each time.

Re: Transfer to new tank disaster - dead fish, lack of oxygen and no nitrate #47
I found this video for the 7500k and it looks like the nozzles should be in the water.

Nice looking tank!

Do you have a reading for ammonia? It's likely the cold water has damaged the filter bacteria. Is you house temperate cold during the day?

Re: How to stop a sandy tank? #48
What type of sand did you add? I imagine it will settle.

There's one thing I noticed in the picture is the electricity extension is next to the tank. It would be good to have this above the tank or to the side with a drip loop so water can't drip down the cable into the socket.

The cable from the tank doesn't look very long.. they should make them much longer so the power can be far away from the tank!

More info here: http://www.fishkeeping.co.uk/modules/ ... id=271670#forumpost271670 see the drip loop diagram.

Re: Setting up tanks for Pleco #49
That youtube tank is pretty noisy. You might find it hard to sleep with that sloshing noise in the house.

You might want to look at the electricity cost for running a pump like that 24/7.
