Re: Help for a freind #31
Update if anyone is interested: The true dragon goby has been taken back to the LFS along with the very large red tail shark, hopefully for a better life with someone who can look after them and give them what they need!

In return for the fish I received 2x new T5 70cm Jewel Bulbs for my unit. Sadly my unit turns itself off after a few minutes...So I bought a new one for ?60 really not too bad!!! Fitted and working, now sadly a few plants have turned a manky colour as for the lack of light :(.

I still have the Common Pleco and he is alive and well, he has seemed to cheer up a great deal and is even sucking the glass and swimming about (when the lights are off though). He/She needs a name!

Daily dose's of stability still are still going in and the little fish are even shoaling in there groups with the odd chase every now and then.

The 3 pearl gourami's colours has come alive now, they are also swimming happily about the tank instead of sulking on the top.

The fish have had a stressful week but hopefully all will be well soon FX.

This experience has re-kindled my love for aquatics, and I am looking very much forward to starting again!

My rummy nose tetra is now virtually now a goner, its up against the filter intake gasping for air. Great... here we go.

Re: Help for a freind #34
Stability dosage's started now just, finished a 25% water chance with normal amount of Prime, going to do 25% water change every day for a week. I gave my testing kit away stupid me :(. I will go to my LFS tomorrow and get a water test done see the results.

The Dragon Goby is a strange fish it just hides away and looks ugly! But I was speaking to the guy in the LFS and he said he has a customer that wants one so he said he will give me ?15-?20 in store credit for it. Now how do I got about catching him!

Also the lights on the tank are broken does anyone know where i can get a cheap light unit 70cm?

The big eel thing I was describing last night is called a True Dragon Goby.

Also I picked up some Prime and also some Stability, need advice on what measures though.

Re: Help for a freind #36
Off out to get some now, will post pictures of fish I had noticed a few rummy nose tetra's and I'm sure there's a small keyhole cichlid. Still about 4 types I have no idea about!

It's really nice to see everyone is still about :)

Re: Filters #37
Hello there Merseymiss,

Welcome to the forum first of all, if you have any more questions there are many people here that just love to help.

I am assuming you have an internal filter (Filter inside the tank). In answer to your question your water outlet could be completely submerged or just above the water line, there is only a few slight difference's. When the outlet is placed above the water line it provides extra oxygen in the water although considerably louder.

Re: Help for a freind #38
Great to see you are still around :)And thanks for the fast reply.

I will have a look into Seachem Prime sounds good I like the fact its only 2.5ml per 100L

Is there any others like AMMO LOCK or stuff like that I should use also?

I will have to post some pictures there are loads that I have no idea what they are. I know there is a Big Common Plec, Cardinal Tetras, Gourami's, Large Red Tail Shark but there are a few I'm unsure of there is a very large snake eel looking thing quite ugly to be honest!

I know for a fact PH will be a problem but also will be over stocking. Its not perfect but it will have to do for now :(

Help for a freind #39
Hey long time no see everyone, I quit fish keeping quite some time ago, some of you may remember me from along time ago. Today I got a phone call from my uncle who said he can't look after his tank and fish anymore and needs rid of it fast, I said I would take it till he can find someone else who wants it or I get back into it. Its a Jewel Trigon 190 and it has a mixture of different tropical fish including quite a large common plec. Basically I told him not to pack the tank down until I was there so I could save the filter Bactria, sadly he had to empty the water and the tanks now un-cycled.

I was wondering what are the best chemical liquids I can get to reduce ammonia effects + boost cycle time?

Also I would like to know a strong water treatment for good price?

Thanks
