Lowered KH and pH of local water supply
#263185
I tested the water recently and noticed the KH and pH of the tank water had fell below the lowest on the scale of the Tetra 5 in 1 strips - the pH is lower than 6.3 (i think)
The fish seem fine and it says on the instructions to correct this i can add marble chips to increase the KH which is a pH stabiliser
I have heard the local water supply pH alters frequently
Also, i saw some Tetra Easybalance in a local aquatic supplier which says it can reduce frequent water changes and stabilise KH and therefore pH levels
Does anyone use it? I am reluctant to change things when the fish are fine, just wondered if long term exposure to low pH can harm the Goldfish?
