Re: Very unhappy fancy goldfish! #221
He's had the tank for over 6 months i made sure it was fully cycled before any thing was put in. Its a 100 liter tank with an external filter(Aquamanta efx 200 from MH) just been round to check ammo 0 NO2 0 No3 40 PH 7.8 so got him to do a 50% wc just in case( usually does 10% every week) Using stress coat and stress zyme every water change The other 3 seem to be fine if a little concerned for there mate as 1 keeps gently nudging her. There still only about 3-4 inches long at the mo but hes thinking of upgraiding pretty soon. Theres 3 vailtail and 1 bubbleeye its 1 of the vailtail thats poorly.

Re: Electic blue rams #223
Did all my weekly test this afternoon and the ph has gone down more on my 38 liter tank than my 60 liter despite doing 10% RO WC changes in both. Been reading through some of the threads on here and noticed that air stones could be making a difference (haven't got 1 in the 38 liter as i didn't like it as it looked like my little betta was in a washing machine. Can they really make that much difference?

Re: Electic blue rams #224
Cant believe the change in both the 38 and 60 liter tanks this morning did a 10% WC with OR yesterday to find 2 very cheeky rams chillin out in the coconutshell cave i put in(they just hid in the plants before) and got so excited when i put the lights on to feed them what a pleasure to see instead of them being scared . My betta in the 38 liter has also made his first bubble nest so he must be much happier, little mans growing up! Thanks for all you're advice V

Re: Electic blue rams #225
Please don't apologise hague it's all a good learning curve for me but i think i'll leave the chemicals alone for now and just carry on with the RO (chemestry was never my favorite subject lol). Said goodbuy to the bully he's gone back to the LFS who were actually very understanding. Things seem to have setteled down no end with just the two of them. Now they seem pretty inseperable following each other around so fingers crossed. lisa

Re: Electic blue rams #226
Thanks violet and jaguar i did buy some ph/kh minus but if i'm honest i was a bit cautious about using it. Think i'll just keep going with the RO unlike some i do have the patients to get things right with time( i left the tank for 6 weeks before i put anything in there) I would like to know though what is the natural PH of RO and the best way to store it? Thanks lisa

Re: Electic blue rams #227
Yeah i did have them round the wrong way typical scatty! Started using RO a couple of weeks ago doing a 10% water change every week so very slowly changing it from conditioned tap water as didnt want to shock them too much. Just wish the LFS would give people more advice than just taking your money from you! Ah well we live and learn just a shame the poor fish suffer while us newbys get our act together.

Re: Electic blue rams #228
Hi violet Ammo 0 nitrate 0 nitrite 20 ph 7.5 stable for the last 2 months really well planted and bogwood. Really think i'll have to rehome the bully and have a look around to see what i can get to fit into the space i have as i already have a 210 liter one in the same room. Thank you so much for your advice though i'd rather do right by him and rehome him than have a tank full of stress out and bullied fish.

Electic blue rams #229
Can any one offer me any advice on electic blue rams? I have 3 rams and 5 neon tetra in a well planted 60 liter tank but 1 of the rams trys to take chunks out of anything he can catch. At present i have had to put him in a breading tank for the safty of my other fish. I'm pretty new to feeping tropical fish and have only had the tank since january so any constructive advice would be appreciated. lisa
