Re: Advice needed #22
I would do a water change first (as you won't be able to once you've started treating), then start the treatment. Do the full course, when it's finished do a water change and run carbon in the filter for 3 or 4 days to remove it. Hopefully it'll sort them out

Re: Female Dwarg Gourami In Trouble. HELP #23
What med are you treating the fin rot with?

Meds can remove alot of oxygen from the water so maybe this is affecting your gourami?

As nathan said get an air stone in the tank to get some more oxygen in there.

If you could also post water readings just to rule anything else out.

Hopefully it's a quick fix!

As you are probably aware a high volume of captive breeding has led to guppies being extremely tolerant of different parameters, apart from that they are a very hardy fish anyway.

Quite a lot of the 'hardiness' has been bred out of guppies nowadays due to over breeding them. The guppies you see in fish shops need good conditions to their liking to be able to thrive.

Re: Tank swap. #28
Hello Jellybean

You're brave!

I don't really have much input apart from 'good luck!' haha!

Would the mums round up their young and dart into a shell if you put your hand or a net in or anything? If she does them would it be possible to net the whole shell and move it across? Then mum and babies stay together? Or am I being silly with my nil experience of cichlids!

Please tell me if i'm being stupid
