Re: Java moss free, nearly half a bucket #21
I still have a little space left in my tank if you would be willing to post. I would be happy to pay the postage or send something in return.

Re: Disgusted, Appauled, Annoyed and Frustrated #22
My grandad lives just up the road and United Utilities lists his water as slightly hard 9.5 degrees Clarke and low in nitrates. That should give you a lot of options, I would look at the classic nano species like micro-rasboras

or maybe a betta

You are better going tropical to give you some choice and knock a little off the recommended minimum tank sizes as the biorb gives less usable swimming space than an ordinary cube or rectangular design.

Floating plants for trade or p&p #25
I have some mini water lettuce stuff due another cull. Does anyone want some?

Asking ?1 to cover p&p or trade for any low tech friendly or emersed plants for my HOB/Wabi Kusa.

Re: Young Paradise Fish: Swimming Issues #26
Watch them really closely, as soon as they get big enough they start trying to form territories and it gets very nasty. I have three in my community tank and the two females are troublesome little devils!

Re: Most amazing Bettas for sale! #29
On such a small tank the RO isnt too much of a faff. I only get fresh RO once a month and its ?2.50 per time so really not a big deal. PH can also be lowered with Indian almond leaves and the like once the hardness is down to a decent level. Yay for cheap easy solutions :)

Re: Our first aquarium arrived today #30
Goldfish are too big for 54l full stop I'm afraid. Pet shop aquariums are only holding tanks not long term homes for those fish and the filtration is usually far greater than it would be at home.

Look at getting some of the more common tropical fish. Shrimp are an option but if you don't like them there's no point getting them.
