Re: missing gourami #1581
Great! Make sure you don't put too many fish in to start though.

You need to do the usual tests (ammonia, nitrite etc) more frequently when you add fish as the environmental balance will change in the tank.

Re: missing gourami #1582
As far as missing fish go, I've had fish that I've been absolutely convinced that they'd gone, only for them to re-appear at a later stage.

My experience is that fish usually settle quickly (less than 24 hours) in a new tank if they are young, but they can sometimes be skittish for a while.

Probably just a wait and see for this one.

It seems they got stuck in the bubbles at the back of my tank

Fish are pretty strong little critters and don't tend to get stuck, like Marc mentioned, in water or air flows. They usually manage to thrash themselves free.

However if they're dead or nearly dead they will easily get pulled in by currents.

I always liked the Interpet testing kits. There used to be an all in one starter kit.

You can always take a small sample of water to the shop and get them to test it.

Re: Dwarf Gourami #1585
Looks to me like they would be ok, except during breeding, when the males can get territorial and aggressive. If you can find another peaceful pair you should be ok.
