What about tap water but I leave it there over 24 hours? Should I also mix it with RO water too? I have peat in my tank but it serve as a layer under gravel to help the plant growing, will it help replicate neons's natural environment?
Thanks alot. There's still a few things I'm wondering. 1) How can I make sure that the female is ready? 2) Is there any other way to reduce PH other than using peat or chemicals? (I live in Asia so fish caring equipments are not easy to find)
I've been keeping fish for awhile but I've never thought about breeding some. Now I'm planning on breeding neon tetras. I have a 90 gallon tank but it's filled with other fish so I've bought a 10 gallon tank, planted it with lots of plants and a sponge filter running. I also have male and female neon tetras about 2-3 cm long in my 90 and infusoria agriculture on going.
Now what exactly should I do next? I've read about regular water change in breeding tank and removing parents but I've no idea if my fish is ready or not. Any information would be very helpful. Thanks :)
