Re: Any advise please. #11
to get your water up to speck for tangy's and there a lovely selection of fish covering many aspects the start from the ground up

substrate would be coral sand

decore would be ocean rock lots of it for hidey hoals and buffering

then coral shell in the filter and you should have hard as nails water in no time plus you can get some rift lake salts to help buffer up the water at first with no fish then the other stuff should keep it there

Re: cichlid tank cleaning #12
stire up the gravel with a stick regularly also increase the water flow around the bottom of the tank with a power head and finally get some Malaysian trumpet snails to tern over the gravel and eat any detritus in the gravel that should sort it all

Re: New Convict and Rant #15
she would have been removing the infertile eggs the fry will be well hidden and usually take a few days to become visible the parents are very good at hiding them but as its the first spawn i wouldn't worry to much about them sometimes it takes a few practice runs aspesualy with a young female

Re: Lighting #20
as far as ime awer you will have to use jewel tubes as ther an odd size try to fined out what's fitted as standard as they are usually the best option for jewel tanks the 2 different bulb's will be for different colores some better for plants others for fish colore
