Re: Reef Critters #11
The one's on the left are Button Polyps (Protopalythoa species), the one's on the right are Zoanthids (Zoanthus species) - good times.

The final pic looks like Aiptasia to me - bad times.

The star you mention sound like either baby Brittle Stars, more good times, or Asterina Stars - bad times but some are fine.

Don't know about the blobs and brine - need another description

Re: Yikes !! what is it #12
Looks like a Chiton to me. It's a good 'un - eats algae and diatoms. It also scrapes the rock. Typical behaviour is it will stay in one area (homing area) in the day and at night will venture off searching for food, only to return to it's home area come day-light.

Re: Sump Light? #13
Okay, Had a look today in my LFS and found the light unit you mentioned. Couldn't find a replacement bulb. Will have a look at my other LFS when it opens on friday. Again, cheers James.

Re: need some advive #14
To be honest, I don't think you'll have a choice as you're going to have to wait until your new tank has cycled and in the time it takes to do that your stock is going to perish in your small tank.

Re: Sump Light? #15
Cheers. Can't seem to find a marine bulb to replace the tropical one though.

Re: need some advive #16
Am I doing the maths correctly? Is that nine fish in a 106 litre tank? If so, it sounds like it's overstocked.

Sump Light? #17
Anyone have a recommendation of a good small lighting unit for my sump - to be used to keep caulerpa?

Re: Colt Coral #18
For some reason, this is the ONLY coral I don't seem to be able to keep alive. I've been through 4 now, the Pink Pussy Coral, the purple Caranation Coral and 2 orange Colts.

Decided not to buy any more...

Re: slugs breeding like rabbits #19
As Felixflame mentioned. Stomatellas are good guys. They're handy for cleaning difficult areas which large snails can't reach.

Re: Placing of Feather Duster #20
Many moons ago my LFS told me to place them on the sandbed. They did not last very long - a few weeks at the most. I then purchased more, and placed them in rock crevices (halfway up) with and they lived for over 2 years without losing their crowns at any point.

What I've found is if you put them in the sand the Featherduster is more likely to encounter movement when you clean the sandbed or sand sifting inverts will also disturb it therefore it is more likely to lose it's crown or perish due to stress.
