Hi fish lady I have just performed a nitrate test again and shook the bottle and banged it on my worktop and still got a reading of 5ppm Do I need to do anything ? How far away am I from adding fish ? Also what fish would be good for me to start with ? Thanks Craig
I think this is a fish I need to leave alone until I get another tank and improve my fish keeping skIlls ! Just tested my tank after 10 days of cycling, my ammonia levels were just above 0ppm after 24hrs and have been dropping from 3ppm to just above 0ppm for the last 7days My nitrite levels have now dropped to 2ppm and my nitrate is at 5ppm
Thanks for the reply violet The tap safe I am using removes both My temp is set at 24.5'c at the min so I have just turned it up ! It's reassuring to hear that your cycles have taken 3 days to lower the ammonia level ..... I was beginning to question what I was doing ! Thanks again for your help
Hi I have started to cycle my tank using ammonia as recommended by a few of you on here, but there has been no drop in ammonia levels since I added my first dose. The ammonia content is still 3ppm 36hours after this first dose. Is this normal ? If not what can I do about it ? Thanks Craig
