Re: Is it wrong... #11
I think it's a game the fish play.
My LFS has a catfish that did exactly that to me.
I think they get extra points if they make you scream or swear!

Re: I'm selling a tank... #12
Hey, thanks for that. I'll suggest it to the buyer, and bear it in mind for my tank too..although I'm obsessively careful- but accidents do happen!

Re: I'm selling a tank... #13
Yeah, Little Al, someone will get a bargain, there's about £30 worth of gravel alone, the hood and lights were about £45 if I remember rightly.
The tank is old and has a few scratches, but you can't really see them with the water in.
It's a sound tank and I'm kinda sad to see it go, but since I upgraded tanks I don't have the room to store it.
Hopefully someone will give it a good home and have happy fish.

Rachy,

What's a TV?

Lol Jay, it's something my OH is slumped in front of every night, and when it's water change time on my tanks, I have to almost peel him off the floor and move him so I can get to my tanks haha! :D

lol. I have both of them.. a tv that I rarely
watch and an OH slumped in front of it!!

Re: Advice on new tank #15
Well, In my opinion from when I had 2 tanks, the mainenance isn't any more. You've still got to do a water change ans a few extra buckets doesn't take long and I used to do the filters alternately each week, so on any given week I would still only be attending to one filter. You've still gotta wipe the glass but there will be more glass in a bigger tank.
The only real difference is floor space I think.

Re: Advice on new tank #16
Miss P,
Do you have room for 2 tanks?
If you do, you could get another one like you already have and split the fish between them. that way your fish will have loads of room, you'll not have to worry about the weight in one place, and it'll cost you less to buy too.

Without wishing to offend/be weightist/sexist...
As useful as women are(and they are infinately more useful than men in most cases) I'd rather have 3 burly 20stone fireman checking out my joists than 3 20stone women.
Thats just my opinion.. each to their own of course.

Re: Advice on new tank #18
Ok, after some consideration, I'm discounting the medical profession from my free gift as the white uniforms will take a seperate wash to my normal clothes incase of colour run.
Rugby players are muddy, and despite a laminate floor they would still take some cleaning up after.
Seems my only option is the free firemen. I can see no faults in this option.
Hope Juwel have some left.

Re: Advice on new tank #19
Well.. I'll ask Juwel if they have any psychiatric nurses, just incase they are out of firemen.. my only concern is that the nurses would force medication onto me or my fish on a daily basis.

And the biscuits thing would be an issue... I don't share biscuits.

Re: Advice on new tank #20
Nope. I had a male delivery driver who verrry kindly heaved the tank indoors for me because he looked soooo strong, *fluttering my eye lashes*.
My burly/strapping firemen/rugby players must still be lost in the warehouse. I'll call Juwel first think tomorrow.

I only asked if I could have firemen because the rugby players would be awfully muddy and I'd forever be hoovering up around them.
The firemen would be better I think, not only because of the risk of fire due to water and electrics, but their hoses would be very useful on waterchange day.
