Sorry to "rain on your parade" but the people you are "telling" have long gone (It happens in the world of forums) the post was made 11 years ago so they will never reply, and by the time someone finds this, I bet you too will have long gone (It's a forum thing) But as I suggested earlier, why not make your own thread (Don't hi-jack other peoples posts) and add pictures of your fish etc.

To save you making an error again, most forums have the date a post was made information under the name of the poster, in this case it was Aquamarine2703, and if you click on the name, it shows how many posts were made, in this case it was 3.

Just saying the people you are "arguing with" are no longer on the forum, the post was started just over 10 years ago, and no one has been here since.

I would suggest you start your own thread, saying what your experiences are and some pictures

Re: whats the smallest, easiest fish i can keep? #13
The fish lamp's look great, and yes good reviews, but they have not had them long. I had one, they do look good but they need looking after, and a lot of effort.
I shall explain.
The lid only pushes on (Very loosely) It has to, so you can get it off easily.
The lid has a hole in it. It has to, as the bubbles are air from an air pump, and they must get out.
You must use distilled water (A lot of people don't) tap water will leave deposits around the top.
The "airstone" at the bottom can and does become clogged (Not easy to clean)
The whole thing should be cleaned at least once a year
The water must be topped up (It gets evaporated by the air)

I really liked mine, but the air pump became noisy, and I was not always in the mood to clean it.

Re: whats the smallest, easiest fish i can keep? #14
I have read your posts with interest, I hate to say it, but I can see a real fish is not for you, I then thought about an artificial fish tank (Yes, they do exist, and the "fish" swim about, some have a changing background or coloured lights) I looked on line and the reviews were not good, even for the artificial jellyfish, then it hit me, why not a genuine lava lamp? you never know what patterns its going to do, it doesn't need feeding, and you can switch it off if you want? (It must be on for a while before it does its thing) and it makes no noise what so ever.

Only a suggestion, but you may want to look at Amazon Click me

๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ Oh dear #15
I Like this forum , I understand people come and go, when I first joined there were loads of members and lots of posts, and overtime social media has arrived and so forums have taken a back seat, of all the forums I have joined over the years, (Sadly a lot of them have gone too) they all had the same backbone of rules. No swearing, yes it may seem obvious, but some would try and negotiate the swear filter.
Another common rule was the fact it is pointless replying to an "old post" This had several reasons, sometimes a newbie would reply to an old post with something like "Hello, what did you do to resolve the problem" they then wait, and wait for a reply, which we all know is never going to come as the OP no longer posts, so the newbie thinks that the forum is a waste of time as no one replies, and so the newbie never comes back, and will tell others that, that particular forum is not that good. To stop this from happening good forums will delete the post that replies to an old post, and in some cases they will message the newbie explaining why a reply to an old post is bad. I have seen it done to posts that are over 10 years old. If you are a newbie and reading this, there is no secret, you just read when the post was created, it is usually under the post title, also if you want to check when a poster was last logged in, you just click on the user name and follow from there. (Usually profile) But all that is missing from this forum, I hope it is not the beginning of the end.

Re: New fish owner and bacto start #16
You have posted in the wrong part of the forum, even I have just noticed your post, you posted on the 25 Jan, today is 6 Feb. This part of the forum hardly has any visitors sorry about that.

Re: Bubbler / Aerator #17
If you want water to make sound, it has to either fall from a height, or move very fast (Drawing in air as it moves) but you said you do not want a fountain or anything that is visible I can not think of anything that meets your criteria.

If on the other hand you would not mind a "rock" in the middle of your pond you could buy (or make) a rock feature. Drill a hole through its centre and pump water up through the hole. If the rock is raised above the water or it is an odd shape water would then fall creating a noise.

You can buy pre drilled rocks or you may want to look for a feature made from resin. You could even make your own from concrete, but if you do, it will need at least a week to dry after mixing, and should be sealed with a pond sealer to prevent lime from leaching into your pond and killing the fish.

Below is a suggestion

Something like this could easily be installed in a pond, but it would need a lot of support.

I just had to say this ๐Ÿ˜€ #19
It is obviously quiet here, but a big thanks to admin for keeping the forum layout/culture/format the way it is. (Yes, seen other forums change for the worse, even seen one end/stop/cease/no longer exist.)
Sadly I am not in a position to donate, but I will "buy you a coffee" if you have a link?

No, not promoting "buy me a coffee" there is at least one member here who has it, I just think its a good idea and costs less than patreon.

Not sure a new bike will be a problem.

Are you sure? Its just that if it is 1m x 1m and holds 500L it can only be 50cm wide. It is important in respect of pump and filter size.
What make/ model of filter have you and do you have a UV?
