got it last week, has never fed for me. last ate 21/8 hatched on 9/7. well scared im going to loose it, dont know what to do! have appointment for other snake at vet tomorrow, thinking of taking baby along as well
its ubuntu hardy im usingeverythings fine on it so far. regards to the problems with the usb modem, the stupid thing isnt working properly under windows either so its not a linux conflict. i got it to work after much fiddling and swearing at it.
linux up and running and quite wonderful actually. still have windows under a dual boot thingy just in case. (a wee safety blanket) love that all is free in linux and most things can be made to work, even my i pod. sorry my generic mp3 player...
Re: one lucky idiot alive....*warning-this is quite upsetting*
there was one circulating the mobile phone video thing that showed a scottish numpty just walk right out WHILE LOOKING DIRECTLY INTO THE TRAFFIC and in front of a bus. god knows what happened to him but his pals' comment said it all - "for f***s sake bob" or what ever his name was cant remember now. i do remember there was a police car driving by just as it happened and i do remember they didn't stop.... it was shot in glasgow i think.
got it working! and in case of emergency have dual booted with xp. discovered awalk thru on the net (via windows) for the usb modem i use for the net, turns out usbs were working, just had to 'tweek' the modem to get it working. which it is now. didnt realise linux was so computery, with windows you click things but with this you have to open terminals and type stuff. or am i doing it wrong? im having jolly good fun anyway. everything else works fine so i tink ive been lucky with the hardware. syrians can be housed together untill theyre around 8 - 10 weeks old which is when they start fighting/breeding. although i do wonder what the pet shops do with the hammies over this age... i bought two from acorn a few months ago. one male, one female. i was wanting to breed them as ive done it before and enjoyed it. they both turned out to be female. stupid me for not checking first...
the pet superstore all seem to be much the same - profit over welfare no matter what they may claim. animal law needs a dire overhaul as does a lot of other laws. animals always seem to come last though. i wonder what would happen if someone tried for prime minister in an election and their election thing was animal welfare law reform? id vote probably.
id love to see acorn shut down or at least stripped of livestock rights. i dont have much experience with p@h but ive been in several acorns and they're all the same. you never see an employee over 12 in there unless its the manager whos never in anyway. i think that animals for pets should only be available through certificated and regulated breeders. the price and hassle would stop a lot of the 'part time' pet owners who buy their precious little jimmy/gemima/tiger goosbury whatever their umpteenth hamster/guinea/dog/horse/goldfish because they just wont live.
i have a small zoo in my house and until recently was stuck on the bru with not much money. i always managed to provide for my pets and to keep them comfortable. i hate people that are too lazy or stupid to care. that goes as much for fish as small furries and as much for pet stores as pet owners.
i can get a programme that i can input my timesheets, hourly rate etc and it would calculate how much im due every week? i suspect that this is what excel etc are for but i cant get it to do what i want...
