Runny and cardinal schooling only during day. #2
Not really an issue just something I've noticed as a new fishkeeper I have around 12 cardinal tetras and 6 rummy-nose tetras have noticed during the day they tend to school and swim together

but on a night time after 7 hours of light they all seem to swim individually all over the tank and picking a bit of wood and trying to find bits of wood in the plants is this normal behaviour for tetras?

Not complaining as the tank looks beautiful and full and there's always something interesting to watch I also wondered whether there was a certain light spectrum that would make these fish pop a little bit as my aqua sky 2.0 seems a little bit bright and they seem to get lost in the bright lights.

Re: Green hair algae starting to grow everywhere! help! #3
I too have a new roma 240 tank and have brown algy issue.

Fish shop. said to reduce my lighting and my CO2. However the best book I have on fish keeping from Amazon says I should reduce the lighting increase the concentration of CO2 and leave it on for longer what is the best advice here as both are conflict.

What supplements are chemicals should I be using now but my tank is cycled with plants? And how often.

Here is my tank so I can show you it and the issue

Brown hair algy. More or less c02? #4
Tank Roma 240
FISHLESS CYCLE
6 hours light
7 hours c02

My tank is on week 12 and its started to get horrid long brown hai algy on all my moss and in the faster moving water current.

I am trying to remove it daily with a toothbrush however here is the confusion I went to my local fish shop today and had my water samples tested and everything was OK.

He suggested reducing the lighting to 4 hours and the CO2 to 3 hours.

However I have recently bought the best selling freshwater aquarium book from Amazon and it suggests that I reduce the lighting I but increase the CO2 concentration and the amount of time I am using it on for.

Any experience on which way I should go?

Less c02 or more bubble and on longer any help I'm at a loss?

5 hours light + 5 hours more bubbles c02

Or

4 hours light and 2 hours c02

Here is my tank now.

(video) Added a powerhead to my Roma 240 to increase the water flow #9
Seems to of helped a lot. The water flow in the roma 240 before the end of the tank water was stagnant and not moving at all this was evident when c02 bubbles really didn't reach the far end
