Hi All,

I wonder if you could assist me, I have just bought 20 young red cherry shrimp which have arrived in a package with moss.

Obviously the bag has cooled in fact cold! I've been looking at this article and I wonder if this is the best way to do this and will it help acclimatize the shrimp to my tank and also raise the water temp. Currently my tank is 27c which I believe is perfect temp for them, but the temp of the bag will be room temp at present which roughly saying is about 19c.

Here is the link I'm going to follow to acclimatize them, is this the best way to do this over 45 minutes.

I'm planning on introducing them to my tank tonight and turning off the lights and letting them release in the plants at the back of my tank away from the current fish in there. The plant cover the whole back wall of my tank and also a large amount of algae growing on the plants for them to eat. Hopefully my tanks mate don't notice.

Also whats the best way to feed them just the food left overs I feed my fish plus the algae that's built up or should I buy special food for them as well.

My current stock is 3 Rummy nose tetras and 3 neon tetras, although looking to increase this by double over the next month or so in 2 week intervals. My tank has been running for quite a few years however I removed some of the fish due to them not playing well with the others and for some reason not restocked.

I look forward to your suggestions and advice.

Thanks in advance
Darren
