If you can get the broken bits out without taking the fish out then that will be the best thing, I wasn't sure how easy that would be "wouldn't any muck in the media cloud the water if you remove it with the fish in it" In reply to the water conditioner always add it to the replacement water in the bucket before you add the water to your biorb, you can boil a kettle to warm the replacement water to the same temperature as your biorb if needed but never use hot water from the tap. You say you used esha for 3 days does it say anything about repeating the dose after then as you could maybe repeat it and see how you go on just follow the instructions which may tell you if you can use aquarium salt with it too, remember that salt doesn't evaporate and so stays permanently in the tank/biorb so only add the amount needed for the replacement water.
