Whoa! Thats one big critter. Look like some kind of dragon fly nymph. They can come in with plants. Best removed to be on the safe size.

Thanks for the info Violet!! But I don't really like killing anything unless I have to, can I just leave it for a few days until I can take it to my local Nature Reserve and see what they think ... maybe? I kinda want to know whether it's native or a foreign intruder before I do anything, I really really don't like killing anything unnecessarily!! Even nasty prehistoric-looking monkey-faced monsters!! Lol!! Lxx

I know it's not but it reminds me of a cricket/grasshoppery type thing. Glad it's not in my tank.
