Very nice JB Hmmm, another contender for my desktop pic
Those pieces of concrete used to be a mock up of a ship which was used as target practice during the war so im told, it used to be a couple of miles further around the headland but tide and time wait for no man or remains of a concrete ship, they are being washed slowly further inland, it just shows how nature reclaims her territory, it was teeming with mussels and allsorts of life. Eeerrm, just in case you were wondering.....
That's really interesting, at first I thought the concrete was rocks but the shapes clearly aren't right for that - nice to see Mother Nature doing her thing
Hi JB, I love Whitby. Ispent MANY a holiday there. My Aunt & Uncle lived there, right above the beach, for many years & I used to cat & dog sit quite regularly. My Uncle built the [what was once] the last house along Henrieatta St., where the steps to the Abbey come down to, near the fish smokers. They bought it with a demolition order on it & had to pull it down & start afresh...you should have heard the locals talking about the 'foreigners'....they come from LONDON!!
