Squirrels are very tame nowdays, they know people=food. I've got a picture on my desk of one sitting on my wifes knee and eating nuts.

Lydia couldn't get the idea that they would take food from your hand but wouldn't let you stroke it.
She kept trying to pet them mind she did get close a couple of times.
