Diet Requirements: Varied diet, mainly vegetable matter e.g. marine algae and spirulina. Will take lettuce leaves, brocolli, dried seaweed and courgette. Feed 2-3 times a day.
Compatibility: Generally reef safe as it prefers microalgae and fleshy algae. Ideal for community/reef tanks, but may be aggressive towards its own kind.
Recommendations: UV light to help prevent Ich. Keep only one fish unless in a large aquarium where you may be able to add one other Tang/Surgeonfish - with caution.
Common Problems: Susceptible to Ich (whitespot). When buying look for "pinched-in" bodies which are an indication of under-feeding.
